We’re a passionate group of people who love giving back. It’s our goal to help every child feel the joy and freedom of riding their first bike and in the last 7 years we’ve helped over 14,600 kids in the Detroit area get a bike and a new helmet.
Turn a Dusty Bike Into a Shiny Smile
Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. In 2024 you helped us collect, refurbish and distribute over 2,200 bikes, along with new helmets, to under-resourced kids in our community. Thank you Detroit for helping us change the lives of so many local children!

The 2025 Free Bikes 4 Kidz’ bike season is quickly approaching and the FB4K crew are gearing up for another amazing year of putting a giant smile on the faces of thousands of kids with a bicycle! We’ll need your help both with bike donations and volunteering to help clean and repair all the bikes that we’ll collect. We have 11 locations across metro Detroit to donate bicycles on 9/27. Our flagship location will be at Woodward Corners shopping plaza on the SW corner of 13 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak; 106.7 WLLZ will be broadcasting from the parking lot and there will be a live band playing, Holeshot. In addition, Brown Iron Brewhouse will have coupons for all bike donors and their food truck will be out in the parking lot!
